Reflection ⭐️

At this initial stage, based on my research I wanted to brainstorm some possible names for a banking app I am creating. This exercise was more-so focused on ideating what features are most important to my project. I listed some names that I thought had potential, but at this point I’m not rushing to settle on any decisions. Instead, it’s highlighted what features feel most important to me, such as interesting UI’s detailing spending insights and balanced financial management.

Focus Group Results

In class we used miro to test potential names and see which potential names had the best response.

Results

‘Vision Banking’ was the most popular choice. While I do like this name, it is already the name of a bank which is a major red flag. ‘Balance’ was the second most popular and in my opinion it is the strongest. Vision feels too broad whereas Balance has a deep root in the vocabulary of banking. It’s connotations are exclusively positive, especially when it comes to finances. This also lends itself well to the spending insights and income management features that I think will be a core feature of the app.
