My first objective surrounding selecting typefaces was choosing an appropriate typeface for my word mark and other forms of branding. I kept my search strictly to sans serif fonts, with a keen focus on legibility. I recorded a mix of rounded and square terminal fonts. I placed them all down on the page and assessed which type faces grabbed my attention.
All Potential Type Faces
<aside> ⭐ REFLECTION: The three type faces that stood out to me the most was Quasimoda, Sofia Pro Soft and Report. I found Sofia Pro Soft and Report to be highly similar in nature, however Sofia Pro Soft had the edge in it’s very proportionate and equal geometric qualities. The preset kerning in this font also felt more comfortable, whereas report felt slightly tight. In comparison to Sofia Pro Soft, Quasimoda was also a very solid option. It feels very similar in essence to Sofia Pro Soft, however as a matter of personal preference I prefer the softness of Sofia Pro Soft.

I wanted to experiment with choosing a secondary type face. While I was open to keeping Sofia Pro Soft for all brand applications, I often prefer to have the typeface font be exclusive to the logo and other main aspects of branding.
Sofia Pro Soft and Haboro Soft Pairing
Sofia Pro Soft and Azo Sans Pairing
Sofia Pro Soft and Sofia Pro Soft Light Pairing
Sofia Pro Soft and Brandon Grotesque Pairing
Sofia Pro Soft and Filson Soft Pairing
<aside> ⭐ REFLECTION: I was torn between Filson Soft and Azo Sans to pair with Sofia Pro Soft. I really liked the feeling of both pairings. Azo Sans has very similar geometric qualities to Sofia Pro Soft. However, I quite like the legibility of Filson Soft and it’s softness which mirrors the rounded qualities of Sofia Pro Soft. I think I will not make a final decision until I apply these to a low-fi mock up in order to see which sits the best in an interface.
