Idea Generation

Taking inspiration from my word mark, I decided that continuing on with the line motif would be the best decision and help further a sense of a cohesive brand. I sketched many possible ways this could look. In the beginning I was working with a similar line length proportion to that of my word mark. However, after creating many iterations of this, I decided that it would be better to have a shorter line to maximise the circle’s size and effect as a pivot in the logo.

Breaking Things Down

I created a more detailed sketch of the logo, considering how this would be built and it’s proportions. I assessed the degree tilt of the line also. This was helpful when it came to creating the logo on illustrator as I felt there was a strong geometric logic behind the design.

Refining Pictorial Mark

I made some slight changes to the mockup when I compared it to my word mark. This mainly effected the tilt of the line, which was reduced to a 5 degree tilt to match the tilt of the line in the word mark. The width of the line is also proportionally half of the circle beneath it. I intend to add colour to the logo when I decide what my colour scheme for the brand will be.

Reflection ⭐️

This logo compliments the emerging branding perfectly. My favourite aspect of this logo is it’s simplicity. I feel as though it is also rather timeless which will reduce the need for redesign in the hypothetical future of the brand. I feel this logo would also work well integrated into an icon set as it works well on both a large and small scale. The next step in it’s development is to finalise the colour choices which will be in keeping with the colour of the over all branding.
