I created a mind map to gather in all of the ideas I had for the brand which will ultimately steer the tone of voice and brand values. As this isn’t a branding process, I didn’t want to get too stuck on this side of things so a mind map was a great way to refine my ideas so I had a clearer idea myself on what this brand is all about.
I decided that ‘fuse’ was the strongest name. I really like that name for the connotations of connections, ‘sparks flying’ and light. I also like short names for a brand as it makes them more memorable.
I wanted to add some really strong brand visuals to this project as I felt it would really help to convey the mission of the dating app. I got started by deciding on a word mark.
<aside> ⭐ REFLECTION: I wanted to challenge myself to create some illustrations for the UI. I wouldn’t say I’m exactly confident as an illustrator and it’s something I really want to improve on this coming year. I’m happy with the sketches I’ve produced and I hope they translate well digitally.
