I am now shifting my focus from familiarising myself with all aspects of autonomous vehicles, and instead centring the rest of my research around the user of my product. I created a mind map of the potential users that I had been thinking of throughout my research so far.

I identified four main categories of users that would find benefit from an AV. I thought that there was a lot to discover and think about in terms of older generations use cases. I created a mind map exploring this further.

I split the mind map into three branches, ‘why would they need this?’, ‘where are they going?’ and ‘obstacles’. This was useful to conjecture a comprehensive view of the potential relationship between older generations and AV. I felt that the health conditions that were named on this mind map really sparked my interest, and I decided that there was definitely more to consider in this area.

I created this mind map to explore the relationship between medical conditions and AV. This was a really useful exercise, as I felt it was very intuitive to consider a medical condition and name aspects of the AV UX and UI which I could adapt to make the experience better and more accessible for them.

The results of this mind map are the following points to consider in my ideation:
