Deciding a Name

I felt that a strong name would be key in the creation of a strong brand. I mind mapped some ideas out and landed on ‘sup’ which means to eat. I felt it was a snappy and short name which also had connotations of the shortened version of ‘what’s up?’.

Sketching App Mock Ups

I began sketching what way this app interface would look like. I felt quite excited at this point as the idea was beginning to come to life. I wanted the screens I decided to feature to be reflective of the different uses of the app. I decided to a sketch a screen of the onboarding process (left), the restaurant search feature (middle) and the ingredients scanning feature (right).

Creating a Word Mark

I wanted a strong word mark to feature throughout the presentation. I feel this is a simple way to give the feel of a strong and cohesive brand. I wanted a tick to feature in the word mark to imbue it with the sense of something being checked or assured by a reliable source.

Creating a Colour Palette

I decided on this green and orange toned colour scheme for the brand. I felt that these colours where similar to the colours of food, especially things like vegetables which are more or less okay for any person with dietary requirements to eat.

App Mock Ups

I applied this branding to the wireframes I had created based on my sketches. I was really delighted with them as to be quite honest, with such tight time constraints, I didn’t feel that I would create mockups that are particularly that interesting.
