When designing my slides, I wanted them to feel as much of a part of the brand as the mockups. I adopted the same colour scheme in the design of my slides and the same font.

Opening Statements

I began the presentation by asking the audience how often they thought about food every day. This was to portray the fact that someone living with a dietary restriction thinks about food so much more than the average statement. I kept the design of these slides very minimal as I wanted to reveal the brand slowly to build engagement.

Use of Icons

I felt that my use of icons in the design of my slides was very successful as it is a nice way to add visual interest without using actual pictures. I liked to exclusively use icons in some slides and I was happy with the outcome. They are useful in place of a bullet point like in the slides with the three small paragraphs.

Use of Lifestyle Imagery

I really enjoyed using lifestyle imagery to build a stronger sense of the brand and what our aims are. One of the panel commended my use of it in the presentation. I sourced these from UnSplash for all of the slides apart from the ‘My Story’ slide, which features pictures of me and meals I have cooked or got in a restaurant.

Digital Mockups and Explaining the Use Cases of the App

I made sure to have lots of images of the digital mockups I had created as I felt they were really strong and wanted to showcase them. I also wanted to dedicate a slide to each screen explaining their uses so it was clear to the investors what they were looking at.
