In order to design a cohesive set of graphics, it was important to refer back to my art board before converting my sketches to digital outcomes.
Referring Back to my Art Board
As per my art board, I wanted to draw direct inspiration from the way in which these designs use simple design elements of point, line and plane to create these images. Their directional quality is something I want to replicate in my own designs. The spherical motifs throughout is also something I want to bring forth into my designs as it harkens to the interplanetary nature of space expedition.
The first graphic I created was for the ‘we came in peace’ screen which was based on the Apollo 11 plaque. I built up this shape using concentric circles, then using gradients to create a 3-Dimensional effect. Afterwards, I added a sense of lighting through further use of gradients which I think was highly effective.

I then created a vector of the Apollo 11 rocket to be used in the following three screens. I have to admit, this caused me a lot of stress and consumed a lot of my time, however the result payed dividends. I created it on Figma using simple shapes and gradients, tracing the shapes from a photo of the rocket. I was so engrossed in the creation of this that I forgot to grab process photos, so rather enjoy it in all it’s glory.

The next graphic I created was to be used in presenting more data. I had already sketched how this would look, so I scanned in my sketch and traced it digitally. From there, I made some adjustments to it’s composition, and finally I added colour and gradient effects. Lastly, I added the text to the graphic and coloured it appropriately to suit the graphic.
