Before I began sketching, I wanted to hone in on the content again and structure it in the most engaging and effective way as possible. This feels easier now that I have established an art direction for the project, as I can visualise what way the content might look in this format and make decisions accordingly.
I assessed the “Apollo 11” document prescribed to us as content to begin. This piece is the most engaging piece of content compared to the rest as it details the actual events of the mission. There is a strong sense of narrative in this piece, which is why I viewed it through the lens of Aristotles 3-Act Structure.
I was made familiar of this in Anna Dahlstrom’s ‘Storytelling in Design”.
“Aristotle’s three-act structure consists of a beginning, where the plot is set up; a middle, where the plot reaches its climax; and an end, where the plot is resolved. To this day, the three-act structure is a model used in screenwriting, divide the narrative into three parts.”

I identified which ‘Act’ each stage of the content to be in and also identified the ‘climax’ in the plot, which in my opinion is the first step on the moon.
Apollo 11 Content User Flow and Narrative Act and Climax Structure
<aside> ⭐ REFLECTION: Viewing the piece in this way was very helpful in allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of the structure of this content. This will also allow me to adjust the visual layout to be more suited to the sense of climax building throughout the narrative. Perhaps the most impressive visuals will be at this climax point. Regardless, I think it is important to consider what ways can I keep the user scrolling through the prototype.

I needed to decide at what points I was going to include the prescribed data in the content flow. Upon reflection on this data, I felt that it was very enriching alongside the written content of ‘Apollo 11’. I felt that these two merged together quite well, which is why I decided to structure it in a way that the data content was positioned beside the relevant written content.
