My process for inserting graphics and imagery was quite straight forward. I took it frame by frame, assessing what imagery would be appropriate. My graphics were already pre planned, so it didn’t take as much work adding these in.
I found the earth icons above on a Figma Icon Plug-in. While it would be best practice to create these earth icons myself, it would take too much time and I would only be tracing an already existing map. I also like how these are slightly stylised when enlarged to this size.
In the screens below, I decided to add a star background to the black background. I found a night sky image online which I set to ‘hard light’ so only the light of the stars would shine through. I thought this was particularly effective in breaking up the darkness of the prototype, which I was worried was going to be too black.
In terms of navigations, upon getting stuck into the design of my prototype, I realised that having a scroll navigation would take up too much screen real estate and remove some of the immersive qualities of the prototype. I decided to use simple buttons instead to guide the user through the prototype. I used two different types of button.
