Data visualisation is a crucial aspect of data analysis and interpretation. It is essentially the graphical representation of information and data. By using visual elements like charts, graphs, and maps, data visualisation tools provide an accessible way to see and understand trends, outliers, and patterns in data.
The primary goal of data visualisation is to make the interpretation of data easier. In many cases, data is vast and complicated, making it difficult to comprehend when presented in raw form. By turning this raw data into a visual format, we can comprehend, analyze, and use this information more effectively. It helps to distill large datasets into visual graphics, making data better understandable and accessible.
Effective data visualisation is more than just a design. It is an art and science that combines various disciplines such as information science, data mining, statistical analysis, and graphic design. It helps users to understand the significance of data by summarising and presenting a huge amount of data in a simple and easy-to-understand format. It also can help to identify new patterns, trends, and insights that can lead to better decision-making.
<aside> ⭐ REFLECTION: I love data visualisation! I just find it so interesting to view. I find it difficult at times to create data visualisation, mainly because my maths ability isn’t as strong as my design is. However, it’s an ability I would like to strengthen over time. I find graphs and comparative data visualisation design slightly more daunting, which is something I won’t get the chance to practice in this module, but definitely something I look forward to exploring in the future.

For the remainder of this entry, I want to show some data visualisation I have found this week that I think is pretty fabulous.
Top 500 Most Common Passwords Visualized — Information is Beautiful
I found this a very interesting read. It is very simple in nature, with the password enlarging with it’s popularity. It gives a great insight into human nature and the choices we make. I don’t think it’s the most aesthetically pleasing data visualisation, but definitely a highly interesting one.
This website was shown to us by Kyle, and given the theme of our project, I wanted to go on myself and view it further. It is a highly interesting data visualisation, with a dashboard packet with tonnes of relevant data. However, I do not have a clue what half of it means. That said, I still found it very interesting and informative for my project.
The Dark Side And The Light - Kirell Benzi
This data visualisation is based in the Star Wars films characters and how they are interlinked. I have no knowledge or interest in Star Wars, however this is undeniably a beautiful data visualisation, one that I do not even know where you would start to create this.
