This week we were introduced to Human Centred Design, or UX design as it’s more widely known. This was really exciting and a good refresher from foundation last year. We focused on presenting text in the format of a screen interface, starting with a phone screen piece.
We then added colour to the design as this is as equally important when considering human centred design. I focused on creating a header and a footer to break up the content.
We then took this a step further and created a UI card. This took into account functionalities such as buttons for the user to buy the track or learn more. I tried to tie the image of the track art and the UI together as much as possible. I also had careful consideration to use a grid to line up my text. I also made the background slightly transparent so that the user can still see the cover art.
Overall, I was really happy with my learning in this area. I pulled on a fair bit of knowledge I learned last year in foundation but it was nice to reframe it with a more in depth experience in the subject, especially when it comes to typography. I am excited to create more user interfaces going forward in the course.
